THE SCHOOL
Fer à modeler welcomes groups and individuals who wish to step into the world of blacksmithing. We offer a series of 5 days courses ranging from beginners level to advanced ironworking techniques. We make no claim to turn out, within several days training, accomplished professionals and artisans. We do however; provide attentive, personal guidance for our trainees, and a great opportunity to experience, from the very beginning, all aspects of work planning and execution. The school is a solid, spacious building adjacent to our workshop, it contains12 fire tables, each with it's full set of tools: 75 kg anvil 1-1.5 hammers, blacksmith's vice, tongs and chisels, as well as a full set of safety equipment. Our library holds books from around the world, magazines and catalogs. The school shop offers basic forging equipment for those who wish to set up their own smithy. Others are welcomes to rent a workspace at the school and execute their projects here.

We welcome people of all ages who wish to discover the wonders of ironworking, weather as a pleasurable hobby, or as part of their professional careers.
These may include:
*architects and designers who wish to acquaint themselves with the art of
iron forging for a better understanding of the material.
*artists and craftsmen of various professions who wish to expand
their skills. (For example to make & maintain their own tools)
*restorers of old building and historical sites.
*Professional retraining
Our school is a registered professional training center - individual trainees may be eligible for state - paid tuitions.
